Six different walks
The distances below are for the walk itself, from the indicated starting point. Travel to and from the campsite is additional.
Woodland walk · green route
For those who enjoy walking among the trees. Winding paths alternate with clearings in this woodland on the edge of Dordrecht. Take time to listen to the birds.
Wear sturdy shoes. After rain, unpaved paths can be wet or muddy.
Creeks, willows & a ferry crossing
Take Zonnepont 7 to a nature island in the Biesbosch. Walk past willow coppices, creeks and reeds. The old willow workers’ huts recall the work once done here.
Access is seasonal and you need a ferry ticket. Check current sailing times and plan your return crossing too. Timetables may change from season to season.
Harbours, monuments & terraces
Explore the historic town centre on foot. The route passes harbours and monuments, including the Grote Kerk and Groothoofd. Make an afternoon of it, with time for a museum or a café terrace.
The walking time excludes visits and breaks. Allow extra time if you want to visit a museum or stop for lunch along the way.
Nieuwe Dordtse Biesbosch · green route
Explore the watery landscape of the Nieuwe Dordtse Biesbosch. Walk along small dykes, grass paths and wooden boardwalks, past reeds and open water. A good choice for birdwatching along the way.
Stay on the marked paths and give birds space. Allow extra time for the hides and for stops to watch the wildlife.
Willow woodland & water · orange route
Walk through a mixture of wild willow woodland and open wetlands. At Jantjesplaat, old and newer parts of the Biesbosch lie side by side. Look out for birds along the water’s edge.
The 4 kilometres apply when starting at Jantjesplaat car park. Starting at Biesbosch MuseumEiland makes the walk several kilometres longer. Waterproof shoes are advisable in wet weather.
Dordrecht’s courtyards · digital town walk
Discover another side of Dordrecht: gateways and historic courtyards tucked between the streets. The walk passes seven surviving courtyards, including Van Slingelandtshof and Arend Maartenszhof.
Respect the peace and privacy of the courtyards and follow the signs at the entrances. Open the digital route before setting off and switch navigation to walking.

No. Each walk has its own starting point. The distances shown cover only the route itself. Use ‘Plan your journey to the starting point’ to plan your connection from the campsite.
Griendmuseumpad has a shorter 1.5-kilometre route. Remember to allow for travel to the start, the crossing and the ferry timetable.
This varies by area and route. Check the rules with Staatsbosbeheer, Biesboschcentrum Dordrecht or InDordrecht before setting off. Do not assume dogs are allowed everywhere.
